Kellogg’s approached us to help refresh their pension scheme communications.
They were looking for a new, unified look for the pension scheme, appropriate to both DB and DC members. Although the pension scheme was to have its own distinct identity, we agreed with Kellogg’s that it should be clear from the pension communications that the pension was supported by the Company, and we looked to draw our inspiration from the HR brand.
With such a strong corporate brand, we couldn’t help but maintain the colours and characters from the Kellogg’s look and feel, using the sunshine yellow as the signature colour for pensions to suggest an element of optimism for the future. Using the characters and language reflecting the core business of Kellogg’s reminds the members that the company stands by the scheme.
Having established the new look and feel, the first project we applied it to was the annual newsletter, in March 2011, which we designed, drafted and produced. Named ‘Bitesize’ and with a look reminiscent of a cereal box, the newsletter was aimed at both the DB and DC audience. To help members navigate through we developed and incorporated a clear signposting system into the design, making it clear to members what information would be of most interest to them.
We have now produced a summary report and accounts, and annual benefit statements, using the new brand identity.
