Meet Matt, our strategic projects director...

Matt Clark strategic projects director Key property marketing
SO MATT, WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE FPCG?

Before joining Key property marketing, I was working in property marketing of course! It was a smaller agency, but working with some great clients, some of which I still come across today, such is the nature of the industry. Before that I was in PR, getting my prose and pictures published in trade press, such as Farmers Weekly and the ever popular Executive Hire News...

WHAT'S THE BEST THING ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?

Every day is different (what do you mean everyone says that?). Every day I work with clients I like to find innovative solutions for. I look to do something that makes them smile, is relevant to the audience and provides results in terms of user engagement. I can help to make an idea come to life, or project manage a campaign within an inch of its life. That’s the best thing then - I can use both sides of my brain, creative and functional.

TELL US ABOUT ONE OF YOUR WORK HIGHLIGHTS

Winning the Grand Prix at the Property Marketing Awards for Fish Island Village was an obvious highlight as it was the culmination of some strategy, some wonderful creative and a humorous tone of voice. The project was hard work to get going, but it just seemed to click and everything then fell into place, once we had a real feel for the brand and its flexibility. A really fun project to be a part of.

FAVOURITE BOOK?

I am an avid reader, flitting from classic to contemporary, but I do like anything by Philip K Dick. I think my favourite book might have to be Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy - I went to the same school as Douglas Adams and his sense of humour and appreciation of the surreal has definitely had an effect on my own writing that’s for sure.

FAVOURITE BISCUIT?

A bourbon - like me, it’s multi-layered and soft on the inside.

TOP ADVICE YOU'VE EVER BEEN GIVEN?

It’s better to regret doing something, than regret not doing it in the first place. Oh and always carry a towel (that was from Douglas Adams indirectly).
